Downtown Oklahoma City Engagement Session | Ricki and James

Remember that engagement session from Prague I posted to my Instagram a few days back? You know, the one that wasn’t actually in Prague but in downtown OKC!! The one with the big dome in the back and the dreamy couple with the gorgeous redhead? Yes, this is them again! I know, I can’t get enough of them either! And y’all, I know I love it when I get to go super blonde but the natural redhead in me always loves getting another red in front of my camera!! Don’t ask me why, I don’t know. I just think it is fun!

Back to business! Haha! Want to know my favorite part about this “engagement session”? This is their Christmas-present-for-mom-and-dad engagement shoot; not their real one!!! Hahaha that session will be coming soon and I cannot WAIT to share all the goodness about that session when it is all put together and done!! I mean, you guys!! I am not sure how it can get much better than this but with this couple, I can’t wait to see what magic happens.

Okay, back to their session! Sheesh! Talk about a tengent mood today! Yikes!!! Okay. Honestly, when it came down to this session, I wasn’t sure if it was all going to come together. We have been working for months to get their actual engagement shoot scheduled. Busy schedules make for difficult planning! BUT when an open Wednesday night happens, you jump at the chance to make it work. Unfortunately, the night before this session is the same night I ended up in the ER and hospital with my 5-year-old. I almost rescheduled this session at least 10 different times. Bless my sweet husbands soul, he made sure he took care of everything for me to be able to go to this session. He wasn’t going to let me not go when he had every ability to take control and be present. He even brought my 3-year old and 1-year-old to the hospital to come spend time with their brother and make sure Tank had a parent with him while mom went to work.

Y’all, find a man who steps up to the plate and sacrifices for you so your dreams can come true. Find a man who recognizes when you need him and takes initiative. Then you turn around and do the same thing for him! Loving each other’s dreams is part of loving each other. MAKE IT A PRIORITY.

Want to know the best part of Jared stepping it up and wrangling three kids at the hospital while I went to this session, Tank was so excited that he got to show his siblings (who are quite literally his favorite people in the world) all of his “doctor things”! Tank had hated the hospital, literally, big silent tears rolling down his cheeks because he didn’t understand what was going on. Having his sister and brother there made his mood lighter and the tears stop flowing.

When I pulled up to the session, it was SO overcast and well, cold. But guess what, Ricki and James planned for the weather and braved the cold. Want to know what else? This session lasted for 23 minutes. That’s it! But y’all, those 23 minutes were packed with goodness! This is only a fraction of their gallery and all I can say is they totally nailed it! I am seriously so excited to get these two in front of my camera again soon!!!

Ricki and James, enjoy!
